LAIKA is an analogue role-playing game for one player, about saying goodbye, and living with the consequences of decisions that once seemed easy.

It is also a tribute to the first dog to orbit the earth, Laika, who went far into the unknown and never came home.

It's a sad story that shouldn't take more than an hour, and it's full of love. It requires the player to make some things, and to go on a journey of their own.

Thanks for this experience (I shared your link in my thematic newsletter, about solo games focused on grieving)

I'm so glad it spoke to you, or helped, or sat with you. Thank you, too, for letting it be a part of your beautiful newsletter. I'm honoured. 💖

It made me cry in front of strangers and now I think I am still experiencing grief more than a day later.

10/10, I would recommend if experiencing the cathartic release of emotional trauma is up your alley.

No matter how you interpret it, literally as an object lesson in human cruelty or figuratively as a step in the healing process after trauma, this is a game about you and touching your own humanity where it is most tender.

I won't define it as an RPG, or a game at all. BTW the idea is nice, but you should not advertise it as an RPG, man this has nothing that can be defined as "game".
